Our Mission
American Veteran Service Corp is dedicated with a firm commitment to all veterans in our community. We are advocates that support all veterans as a federally certified 501(c)(3) since 2013.
AVSC services provided are free. Established and founded by Ernest McClendon as he navigated the systems as a veteran, retiring from the United States Air Force after 20 years, with his sister-in-law that served as a claims provider at the Department of Veterans Affairs 575 N. Pennsylvania Ave, Indianapolis 46204 for 39 years. Ernest's wife, Cheryl McClendon, licensed funeral director and founder of AVSC community outreach.
AVSC was established and continues today with our family supporting veterans, in our 13th year of advocating and supporting all veterans with a firm commitment. We have focused on the difficult questions and situations that veterans have daily, by providing one-on-one services with resources, partnerships, and Veteran Service Officers. Our dedication goes above and beyond as advocates; we specialize in getting veteran benefits that they deserve with a personalized focus on benefits increased for the qualified disabled veteran, affordable housing, location of particular forms, military records, ribbons, medals & military burial after care benefits and services.

Education
With our partnerships and resources, we prioritize educational programs to equip veterans with the knowledge and skills they need for successful reintegration into civilian life. From scholarships to vocational training, we are committed to facilitating learning opportunities that lead to personal and professional growth.
Employment
Our job placement partners, services, and career counseling initiatives aim to enhance veterans' employment prospects and economic stability. By providing tailored support and resources, we help veterans secure meaningful employment and build fulfilling careers.
Wellness
Ensuring the well-being of veterans is at the core of our wellness programs. We offer mental health support, physical wellness activities, and access to resources that promote holistic health and healing for those who have served our nation.
